Private: The Immigrant Origins of Christmas
Immigrants began to share their beloved customs and traditions with their neighbors and slowly shaped Christmas into a unifying national holiday. Hence, most of what constitutes a “traditional” American Christmas has origins all over the world.
Below are four holiday traditions that have been integrated into American society. Please (a) explain what these customs are and (b) identify the country from which they originated.
